The 9th Lubricating grease conference on a theme “The High Performance Greases - Emerging Trends” was organized at Hotel Mayfair Lagoon, Bhubaneswar during February 1-3, 2007. Over 170 participants representing manufacturers, consumers, input / equipment suppliers, researchers etc both from India and abroad registered for the conference. Around 12 participants from abroad also participated in this important event. | |
| 8th Lubricating Grease Conference | ||
| The venue for the 8th Lubricating Grease Conference was chosen as Hyderabad, situated on the south coast of India, capital of the state of Andhra Pradesh. The conference venue was Hotel Sitara and Tara for this important conference. Over 175 participants including President NLGI-USA participated. Response from the participants was quite good. | ||
| 7th Lubricating Grease Conference | ||
| The venue for the 7th Lubricating Grease Conference was chosen as Cochin (Kerala) during 3-5 February 2005. The conference venue was Hotel Le Meridien Cochin for this important conference. Over 175 participants including President NLGI-USA participated. Response from the participants was quite good. | ||

The venue for the 6th Lubricating Grease Conference was chosen as Pune during 21-23 Jan. 2004. The conference venue was Hotel Le Meridien for this important conference. Participants received a traditional welcome at Hotel. Registration started on 21st morning where over 175 participants representing manufacturers, consumers, input / equipment suppliers, researchers etc both from India and abroad registered for the conference. Around 50 participants from abroad also participated in this important event. Ms Patricia Todd, Mr. Dave Lambert & Mr. Raj Shah, the Board Members of NLGI USA graced the conference and addressed the participants. | |

| 5th Lubricating Grease Conference | ||

The venue
for the 5th Conference was chosen as Agra the Taj city during 16-18 Jan.
2003. The conference venue was hotel Mughal Sheraton for this important
conference. Participants received a traditional welcome at Hotel. Registration
started on 16th morning where over 150 participants representing manufacturers,
consumers, input / equipment suppliers, researchers etc both from India
and abroad registered for the conference. Over 10 participants from abroad
also participated in this important event. Ms Patricia Todd, President NLGI-USA
graced the conference and addressed the participants. This conference was
also represented by senior officials from various users industry like TATA
Steel, RDSO, Essar Steel, Hindalco, Indian Navy etc. |

| 4th Lubricating Grease Conference | ||

Lubricating Grease Conference was organized at a beautiful hotel, Hilton Golden
Palms & Spa, Bangalore during 16-18 January 2002. Over 150 participants from
India and abroad participated in conference. This conference was inaugurated by
Dr. K. Aprameyam, CMD, BEML. Many prominent personalities representating oil industry, research institutes & user industry participated. Like previous years this conference was once again attended by President NLGI, USA & ELGI. | |

![]() | The India Chapter of National Lubricating Grease Institute, USA, organized the 1st Lubricating Grease Conference at Nainital during February 10-12, 1999, to discuss ways and means of rationalizing grease specification in order to combine many grades into a single product, which would help user industries to reduce their product inventories and costs. | |

| 1st Education Course | ||
![]() | Launching its activities, the newly formed NLGI-India Chapter, successfully conducted the first ever education Program in India on "Basics of lubricating greases" during 25-27th May 1998 at Indian Oil Bhavan, Bandra (E), Mumbai. Twenty seven participants representing various organizations in India including manufacturers, users, raw material suppliers etc. attended this course. | |

| 2nd Education Course | ||
![]() | After the grand success of 1st education course on basics of lubricating greases, NLGI-India Chapter conducted 2nd education course on "Quality of lubricating greases" at BPCC training centre, Seuree (E) Mumbai, during 14-17 Nov. 1999. The program was inaugurated by Sh. S. Krishnamurti ED(Lubes), Bharat Petroleum Corporation Ltd.. followed by a general talk on quality by Sh. R.K. Arora from Escorts Ltd. For the first time four foreign delegates from neighboring countries also known faculties delivered lecture pertaining to quality of greases. Response of participants to this program was very encouraging. | |

| 3rd Education Course | ||
![]() | Once again the response was overwhelming. A total of 51 participants representing manufacturers, consumers and others related to grease industry participated in this three days programme. The course was conducted in two parallel sessions - one on rating of gears and other on tribology of lubricating greases. The course was inaugurated on 9th November 2001 by Sh. N.P. Singh, Director, Balmer Lawrie & Co. Ltd. Sh. V.N. Sharma, GM, Balmer Lawrie Co. Ltd. and Secretary NLGI-India Chapter. The lectures delivered by respective faculties were quite exhaustive and interactive. | |

| 4th Education Course | ||
![]() | After the grand success of 3rd Education Course on Lubricating Greases and Procedures for Grease rating with Tribology theme, this course was attended by around 35 participants representing manufacturers, as well as users. In this education course there was an increased participation from user industry compare to programmes. Prominent faculties available in India shared their views & experience with the participants. A visit was also organized to famous Tata steel plant to get a feed back about actual application areas. As per the receieved from the participants this course was very informative, interactive and useful to them. As there was an increased participation from user industry, this also provided an unique plateform to resolve one individual issues. Faculties selected both from user as well as manufacturing industry have taken keen interest in responding to participant's queries. | |

| 5th Education Course | |
Once
again the response was overwhelming. 5th Lubricating Grease Education
Course on "Automotive Lubricating Greases" was held at Chennai
Petroleum Corporation Ltd., Training center, Chennai during 21-23 Nov. 2002.
A Total 29 participants representing manufacturers & consumers participated
in this course. On 22nd November morning session total number of participants
were divided in two groups. One group went to M/S. Hyundai Motors India
Ltd. plant and other group to M/S Hindustan Motors, Lancer division. There
are two most modern plant making new generation cars. The participants got
exposure to these two new manufacturing units. The experience to industry
was very interesting & learning to all the participants. The overall
response on this course was very encouraging; participants found this specialized
course very useful, informative and significant. |

| 1st Round Robin Test | |
NLGI
India Chapter, during the first few months after its formation, initiated a round
robin test Program for the calibration and improvement of the accuracy of testing
equipment in different laboratories. The Program received wide appreciation and
seven laboratories participated. The tests included were drop point (D 566), penetration
(D 217) and roll stability (D 1831). |
